We are currently seeking an Agricultural Economist/Food Security Policy Specialist for an upcoming project in Cambodia. This position is contingent on ACDI/VOCA being awarded the program. The objective of the program is to create broad-based economic growth through the development of agricultural value chains, including rice and high-value horticulture, taking into account natural resource management and food security requirements for the population.

Responsibilities:

• Provides project development, policy and strategic support in a variety of areas including agricultural economics, rural development and food security

Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in agricultural economics, business, rural development, or related discipline
• Minimum of seven years of relevant experience in agricultural economics, food security and/or rural development.
• Minimum of five years of professional experience in progressively more responsible project management positions, analyzing and coordinating programs in the field of agricultural economics; activity, design, development and implementation; and overseeing multiple program areas simultaneously
• Demonstrated understanding of the basic principles of development economics and their relevance to agriculture and food security policy
• Experience in complex and challenging field operations in closed societies and/or transitional or developing countries is preferred.
• Significant management experience in a developing country context
• Professional experience in Southeast Asia is highly desired.

Social Scientist, Cambodia

We are currently seeking a Social Scientist for an upcoming project in Cambodia. This position is contingent on ACDI/VOCA being awarded the program. Responsibilities

Provide research and analysis to the project on a variety of topics including food security, agriculture, markets, policy, rural and community development, natural resources management, environment, and industrialization.·         Bring the perspective of evidence-based analysis to critical issues facing farmers, agribusinesses and policymakers.

Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in social science or related discipline, preferably with a minimum of five years of professional experience in developing country contexts.
• Minimum of five years of professional experience in progressively more responsible project management positions, analyzing and coordinating programs in the field of agricultural economics; design, development and implementation of activities; and oversight of multiple program areas simultaneously·
• Demonstrated professional experience and knowledge related to food security and agricultural development.
• Strong research and writing skills, and the ability to relay results to both lay and professional audiences.
• Experience in complex and challenging field operations in closed societies and/or transitional or developing countries is preferred.
• Significant management experience in a developing country context.
• Professional experience in Southeast Asia is highly desired.

We are currently seeking a Tropical Agronomist for an upcoming project in Cambodia. This position is contingent on ACDI/VOCA being awarded the program. The objective of the program is to create broad-based economic growth through the development of agricultural value chains, including rice and high-value horticulture, taking into account natural resource management and food security requirements for the population.

Responsibilities:

• Provides project development and strategic support in a variety of areas including crop improvement and cropping systems management, horticulture, water and land management, natural resources management, and socioeconomic and policy research

Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in agronomy or related discipline, preferably with a minimum of seven years of professional experience in agricultural development
• Minimum of five years of professional experience in progressively more responsible project management positions; experience analyzing and coordinating programs in the field of agricultural economics; design, development and implementation of project activities; and ability to oversee multiple program areas simultaneously
• Demonstrated professional experience and knowledge related to the production of tropical agriculture and the management of cropping systems
• Experience in production agriculture, horticulture, agricultural engineering, and farm systems management is desirable.
• Proven record of research excellence is desired. Experience in complex and challenging field operations in closed societies and/or transitional or developing countries is preferred.
• Significant management experience in a developing country context
• Professional experience in Southeast Asia is highly desired.
