Adelaide Scholarships International (ASI)

The University of Adelaide offers a scholarships scheme for international students undertaking postgraduate research study. Its purpose is to attract high quality overseas postgraduate students to areas of research strength in the University of Adelaide to support its research effort. The selection for scholarships is extremely competitive.

A number of ASI scholarships may be available in the mid year round of scholarships for semester 2, 2012 to outstanding international students from any country undertaking postgraduate research in any academic discipline.

The ASI provides:

  1. Course tuition fees for two years for a Masters degree by Research and three years for a Doctoral research degree (an extension is possible for doctoral programs only);
  2. An annual living allowance of approximately $23,728 (2012 value) for the normal duration of the program; and
  3. If the award holder holds a subclass 574 visa the award covers the cost of compulsory standard Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) Worldcare policy for the student and their spouse and dependents (if any) for the period of the scholarship. C.I.I.D.G Erdos Hongjun Electric Power Co., Ltd  is a Sino-Cambodia joint venture granted permission by the Royal Government of Cambodia to develop a 7*135MW coal-fired power project in Sihanouk Ville in order to generate the electricity to be supplied to the ELECTRICITÉ DU CAMBODGE (EDC). International Postgraduate Coursework Scholarships (IPCS) from Faculty of Arts the University of Sidney

The Faculty of Arts offers scholarships to outstanding international students undertaking a postgraduate coursework program in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Sydney. These scholarships cover the tuition fees for the whole degree program in which the applicant is enrolled.

Scholarships will be available for all postgraduate coursework Master degree programs in the Faculty of Arts.

Eligibility
Applicants must:

  • have received an unconditional offer of admission to a Masters by coursework program in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Sydney. This means that applicants must have met the Faculty’s English language requirements, as well as academic admission requirements.   • have a minimum of 7.0 IELTS (overall) or equivalent if they are from a non-English speaking background
  • be commencing postgraduate study at the University for the first time

International Doctoral Program In Energy Science Graduate School Of Energy Science Kyoto University

Deadline: November 15, 2010

The international Doctoral Program in Energy Science is offered to provide foreign students and researchers, who have a Master’s degree (or equivalent), an opportunity to further their studies toward a Doctoral degree at Kyoto University. In this Doctoral Program, Japanese proficiency is not required since students can obtain the necessary credits by choosing ones among a variety of subjects presented in English and their research works are also supervised in English. An evaluation of eligibility for admission will be made on the basis of the documents submitted to our School Affairs Office.

Eight students will be admitted each year with a scholarship from the Japanese Government.

Scholarship

  • Allowance: 155,000 to 158,000yen per month for at most 36 months (subject to change depending upon the annual budget of each year)
  • Travel to and from Japan: Economy-class round trip airfare
  • School fees: Exemption from the entrance and tuition fees

Eligibility

  • Nationality: Any of the countries with which Japan has official diplomatic relations
  • Age:under 35 years of age as of April 1, 2011
  • Academic qualifications: Master’s degree or equivalent (by the end of September, 2011)
  • Language ability: Good command of English (Japanese is not required)

Environmental Policy Program (EPP) at IUJ

Environmental Policy Program (EPP) which is offered by the Graduate School of International Relations (GSIR)  is a non-degree program offered for 6 months from October 2010 through March 2011, and taught entirely in English.

This program is designed to prepare the next generation of leaders in environmental policy and management by providing them with a conceptual framework and practical skills.

The EPP is sponsored by Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) (http://www.jasso. go.jp/index_ e.html) and the participants in the program will be provided funds from JASSO under its project entitled  “2010/2011: Invitation Project Implemented by JASSO Supporting the Exchange of Undergraduate and Postgraduate students from ASWEAN Member Nations etc. under the Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students & Youths (JENESYS) Programme.”(http://www.jasso. go.jp/scholarshi p/documents/ gaiyou_e22ja. pdf)

The GSIR is inviting applications from students with a bachelor’s degree  and who are currently pursuing graduate studies in a university in one of the following countries: Australia, Brunei, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, or Vietnam.

Only those students who have the nationalities of any of the following countries will be eligible to apply to be sponsored by JASSO: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, or Vietnam.

Funds provided by JASSO to each program participant:
Monthly Stipend:      130,000 yen/month
Relocation Allowance: 260,000 yen for a round trip transportation
Field trip in Japan:  up to 100,000 yen (when need arise).

Only up to 14 students will be admitted to the EPP with the JASSO scholarship.
