Environmental Policy Program (EPP) which is offered by the Graduate School of International Relations (GSIR) is a non-degree program offered for 6 months from October 2010 through March 2011, and taught entirely in English.
This program is designed to prepare the next generation of leaders in environmental policy and management by providing them with a conceptual framework and practical skills.
The EPP is sponsored by Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) (http://www.jasso. go.jp/index_ e.html) and the participants in the program will be provided funds from JASSO under its project entitled “2010/2011: Invitation Project Implemented by JASSO Supporting the Exchange of Undergraduate and Postgraduate students from ASWEAN Member Nations etc. under the Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students & Youths (JENESYS) Programme.”(http://www.jasso. go.jp/scholarshi p/documents/ gaiyou_e22ja. pdf)
The GSIR is inviting applications from students with a bachelor’s degree and who are currently pursuing graduate studies in a university in one of the following countries: Australia, Brunei, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, or Vietnam.
Only those students who have the nationalities of any of the following countries will be eligible to apply to be sponsored by JASSO: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, or Vietnam.
Funds provided by JASSO to each program participant:
Monthly Stipend: 130,000 yen/month
Relocation Allowance: 260,000 yen for a round trip transportation
Field trip in Japan: up to 100,000 yen (when need arise).
Only up to 14 students will be admitted to the EPP with the JASSO scholarship.

The admitted students will reside in the IUJ’s student dormitories that provide the opportunity to enjoy life on campus with people of different nationalities and backgrounds.
