EISA originated in 1982 when five editors-in-chief from European photographic magazines met to decide the ‘European Camera of the Year’ for the first time. In 1989, after another 10 photo magazines had come onboard to judge, the European Imaging and Sound Association was formed. Today EISA has members from 50 magazines from 19 different European countries. The association meets every year to decide on the annual EISA awards for the best products launched over the previous 12 months in the fields of photography, video, audio, home theatre, mobile devices and in-car electronics.
