Eric Maskin, Nobel Prize laureate, will be in Cambodia in January 2010

Professor Eric Maskin, awarded a Nobel Prize in 2007, is visiting Cambodia from 21-16 January 2010. The Heinrich Boell Foundation and the Cambodian Economic Association are co-organising a roundtable between him and Cambodian economists and development professionals (about 30-40) from 2:00 to 5:30pm on 21 January 2010 at the Hotel Cambodiana. The topic is “Economic policies for Cambodia – enforcing the goal of fair and sustainable development in times of global recession”.

Eric Stark Maskin (born December 12, 1950) is an American economist and Nobel laureate recognized with Leonid Hurwicz and Roger Myerson “for having laid the foundations of mechanism design theory.” He is the Albert O. Hirschman Professor of Social Science at the Institute for Advanced Study, and a visiting lecturer with the rank of Professor at Princeton University.
