
Petra Susanna Schürmann was the first German woman to be crowned Miss World
Petra Susanna Schürmann, the first German woman to be crowned Miss World in 1956, passed away at the age of 74 last Wednesday.
Petra worked for many years as a television presenter in her native Germany. She was expected to attend the 60th edition of Miss World, to be held in Vietnam in November this year.
The Miss World Organization issued a note on its official website sending “condolences and love to her family and loved ones”
